Can’t afford a Lamborghini? How about a $4,000 smartphone instead?
There are smartphones, and then there’s the $4,000 Tonino Lamborghini Antares.
Inspired by the luxury sports cars, the Antares is a new limited-edition Android smartphone made out of stainless steel and leather.
The phone was announced Tuesday and is geared toward “high income men and women that demand the highest quality of phone with both looks and performance being of equal importance,” according to a release for the device.
The device features a 4-inch screen, a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone is 0.53 inch thick and comes with 32 gigabytes of internal storage. Users can also expand the storage through the Antares’ microSD slot. The luxury gadget also comes with dual speakers and a built-in Yamaha amplifier.

About the only thing that falls short is its operating system. The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, an outdated version of Google’s mobile operating system.
“The Antares is in a class by itself, one we refer to as the ‘techno-luxury’ mobile segment,” said Tonino Lamborghini, president of the brand. Tonino is the son of Ferruccio Lamborghini, the man who founded the Lamborghini automobile brand.
“Our new phone marries uncompromising Italian design and premium build quality with the high performance people expect from their most important lifestyle accessory,” Lamborghini said in a statement.
The Antares is set to go on sale in Russia and China next month. It will be available in the U.S. early next year.
