The production will reunite him with director Scott Ellis. Early in their careers, they performed in a bus-and-truck tour of "Grease."

But before he starts rehearsals, Gallagher will be filming the fifth season of "Covert Affairs," in which he plays the CIA's director of clandestine affairs, Arthur Campbell, who was forced out of his position last season.

Before Gallagher headed off to a rehearsal for "How'd All You People Get in My Room?," he related a story involving the late O'Toole in Neil Jordan's 1988 film "High Spirits."

"I can't believe I was in the same room with him," said Gallagher, who does an excellent impression of the actor. "He would come in and say, 'Oh, Mr. Gallagher, how are you, sir?' I said "I'm fine, thank you, Mr. O'Toole. How are you?' And he would say, 'Gruesome.'''
