Victoria Grayson, 'Revenge'( Colleen Hayes / ABC / June 5, 2012 )Played by: Madeleine Stowe Most dastardly deed: The so-called "Queen of the Hamptons" destroys the reputation of her lover, David Clarke, and sends him to prison, where he dies. Then she packs off his 9-year-old daughter, Amanda, to a mental institution by bribing a state psychiatrist. Best line: "Every time I hug you, the warmth you feel is my hatred burning through." Said with a lovely smile as she hugs Lydia, her former best friend. Ploy for pity: "She has faced betrayal, early on, right and left, and it has formed her," says Stowe. "I don't think she values herself properly as a human being." Trademark tic: Stowe says there's an involuntary quiet gasp that comes from her throat whenever her character prepares to say something lacerating. "It's followed by a smile, and it's generally the sign of trouble coming." |
