'American Hustle,' 'Captain Phillips', 'Frozen' win editing honors

"American Hustle," "Captain Phillips," "Frozen" and "20 Feet From Stardom" won the 64th American Cinema Editors Eddie Awards for best edited features of 2013 on Friday evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's International Ballroom.

Jay Cassidy, Crispin Struthers and Alan Baumgarten won in the comedy/musical category for "American Hustle," while Christopher Rouse won the dramatic feature prize for "Captain Phillips."

Jeff Draheim also won Friday for animated feature for "Frozen" and Douglas Blush, Kevin Klauber and Jason Zeldes took the prize for documentary for "20 Feet From Stardom."

On the television side, David Rogers and Claire Scanlon won for half-hour series for "The Office -- Finale" and Skip MacDonald earned the trophy for one-hour series for commercial TV for "Breaking Bad -- Felina."

Terry Kelley received the Eddie for one-hour series for non-commercial TV for "Homeland -- Big Man in Tehran," while Mary Ann Bernard won in the miniseries or motion picture for television category for "Behind the Candelabra."

Nick Brigden earned the non-scripted series honor for "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown -- Tokyo" and Chris A. Peterson took the TV documentary prize for "The Assassination of President Kennedy."

Tom Hanks presented his "Captain Phillips" director, Paul Greengrass, with the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year honor. Lifetime Career Achievement awards went to editors Richard Halsey and Robert C. Jones, while editor Randy Roberts received the Heritage Award for his "lengthy and unwavering commitment to the organization."

The Student Editing Competition winner was Ambar Salinas of Video Symphony.
