The Producers Guild of America, a leading bellwether for the best picture Oscar, announced on Thursday the 10 films whose producers are nominated for the group’s annual award: “12 Years a Slave,” “American Hustle,” “Blue Jasmine,” “Captain Phillips,” “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Gravity,” “Her,” “Nebraska,” “Saving Mr. Banks” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

The winner of the PGA’s Darryl F. Zanuck producer of the year award for motion pictures often aligns with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ choice for best picture. The last time the two organizations chose different winners was seven years ago, when the PGA selected “Little Miss Sunshine” and the academy selected Martin Scorsese’s “The Departed.”

Also nominated Thursday in the animated motion picture category were the producers of “The Croods,” “Despicable Me 2,” “Epic,” “Frozen” and “Monsters University.”
