Jennifer Hudson bares hard-earned bikini body pics from Mexico

Jennifer Hudson’s got something to be proud of.

What, exactly? It’s her body, which the 32-year-old actress has worked on for more than four years now, since the August 2009 birth of David, her son with fiancé David Otunga.

Hudson posted on Instagram a bikini-selfie montage of shots taken during her recent vacation to Mexico. “It would take mexico to get me to play on the beach!,” she said in the Tuesday posting. “I’m so not that girl! But I work hard, I deserve it right! Plus, I earned it.”

Hudson, who was a Weight Watchers spokeswoman from 2010 until this past March, famously dropped 80 pounds. She achieved her weight goal about two years ago and hasn’t slipped since.

But it didn’t happen overnight; it’s been a progression. In 2011, Hudson filmed a commercial for Weight Watchers in which she sings the song “I Believe in You and Me” next to an older version of herself circa her “American Idol” days in 2004. Her transformation was apparent.

“Jennifer’s healthy lifestyle and successful weight loss has inspired so many, from her friends and family to our members and staff, as well as people around the world -- and we know that inspiration lives on,” Weight Watchers said in a statement earlier this year.

That inspiration began with herself. “I’ve had three different weight losses,” Hudson told Self in 2011. “Before ‘American Idol’ in ‘04, I lost 60 pounds. Then I lost the 20 pounds I had to gain for my role in ‘Dreamgirls,’ which came out in ’06.” After earning the 2007 supporting-actress Oscar for her role in “Dreamgirls,” Hudson was so committed to getting fit that she turned down the lead role in the film “Precious.”

“This is the third time I’ve lost a lot,” Hudson added. “I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar! I hope it has inspired people.”
