Kate Upton: I’m not a toy, not a child, not a bachelor present

A fully clothed Kate Upton has snagged yet another magazine cover. It’s the September issue of Elle, and this time she’s talking about — feeling bad about herself?

For real.

“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month,” said Upton, who hit the inside pages of SI Swimsuit for the first time when she was only 18 and followed that up with two SI Swimsuit covers in a row.

“Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something. I’m not a toy, I’m a human. I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your [self] out,” she tells the mag.

We could quibble about it being a bit late for an already-married guy to get a bachelor present, but why get bogged down in the details? Especially because Upton’s not really into the boy-meets-girl thing right now, no matter those rumors about her and “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maks Chmerkovskiy.

“I’m just having fun,” she says. “Obviously I have a very busy schedule at this time in my life, and I don’t put relationships as a priority.”

Upton, now 21, does find it amusing when she’s treated like a dumb blond.

“People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It’s actually funny. I’m always like, ‘I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know.”

Another thing she doesn’t like about herself? Her hands, she says in a behind-the-scenes video for the fashion shoot, included below. “I have these little baby hands.”

But she does like some of her parts, albeit not exactly what her “Cat Daddy” fans might expect.

“My favorite part of my body,” she ponders in the video. “I don’t know, maybe my eyes? Because I can change expressions, and also I have yellow in there, and yellow is my favorite color.”
