Kate and Wills name the royal baby — did you guess correctly?

Share

The royal baby has a name! Three of them, as a matter of fact.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son George Alexander Louis,” officials announced Wednesday.

With the child just born Monday, that’s a pretty quick turnaround, in royal time. It took a week to announce Prince William’s name, and a month for new grandpa Prince Charles’ moniker to hit the streets.

Kate and Wills’ new baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

Those who were betting on the name can’t expect a big payoff, however: George has been the front-runner for days, according to World Now, reporting from London. No long odds there.

Here’s a quick rundown of some current royals’ names — and they do have a lot of them. Prince William is actually William Arthur Philip Louis; Prince Charles is Charles Philip Arthur George; Prince Harry is Henry Charles Albert David; and Queen Elizabeth II is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary of York.

The new family left St. Mary’s Hospital on Tuesday and headed to Kensington Palace where they showed off the little guy to his great-grandma, the queen, Newsday reported. On Wednesday, they headed out to Kate’s folks’ place in Bucklebury, England.
