'Music of the Heart' -- Wes Craven( Kerry Hayes / Miramax Films )
Longtime horror movie master Wes Craven cashed in the clout he earned with the hit "Scream" movies to direct Meryl Streep as an inspirational inner-city violin teacher in "Music of the Heart." Though Streep's performance as real-life teacher Roberta Guaspari earned the only Academy Award nomination ever for one of Craven's films, the movie earned just so-so reviews and did poorly at the box office. After this film, Craven returned to do "Scream 3."
