The Fiennes tribute will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in conjunction with a screening of his latest film as director, "The Invisible Woman," previously announced as part of the festival's main slate. The film stars Fiennes as Charles Dickens. Based on the book by Claire Tomalin and adapted by "Iron Lady" screenwriter Abi Morgan, the film tells the story of Dickens and his young mistress, played by Felicity Jones.
A two-time Oscar nominee as an actor, Fiennes previously directed a 2011 adaptation of
The New York Film Festival runs from Sept. 27 to Oct. 13.
