'Gravity,' 'Frozen' earn Cinema Audio Society Award nominations

"Gravity," "Captain Phillips," "Frozen" and "Breaking Bad" were among the nominees Tuesday for the 50th Cinema Audio Society Awards for outstanding achievement in sound mixing in film and television for 2013.

Nominated for the CAS Award for live-action motion picture are "Captain Phillips," "Gravity," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Iron Man 3" and "Lone Survivor."

Vying for the honor in animated motion pictures are "The Croods," "Despicable Me 2," "Frozen," "Monsters University" and "Walking with Dinosaurs."

Television movie or miniseries nominees are "American Horror Story: Coven - The Replacements," "Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome," "Behind the Candelabra," "Bonnie and Clyde: Part Two" and "Phil Spector."

Nominated for the one-hour television series award are "Boardwalk Empire: Erlkonig," "Breaking Bad: Felina," "Game of Thrones: The Rains of Castamere," "Homeland: Good Night" and "The Walking Dead: Home."

The nominees for half-hour television series are "Californication: I'll Lay My Monsters Down," "Modern Family: Goodnight Gracie," "Nurse Jackie: Teachable Moments," "The Office: Finale" and "Parks and Recreation: Leslie and Ben."

Vying in the television nonfiction, variety or music series or special category are "The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony," "The Deadliest Catch: The Final Battle," "History of the Eagles-Part One," "Killing Lincoln" and "Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth."

The awards are to be presented at a Feb. 22 ceremony at the Crystal Ballroom of the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
