Beyonce surprised her fans and the Internet on Saturday when she released a video online of a new ballad titled “Die With You.” The announcement appeared on the singer’s Facebook page early Saturday afternoon.

The highly informal video features the singer casually decked out in braids and a baseball cap and sitting before a black baby grand (as well as what appears to be an abstract canvas by New York-based painter James Nares).

“I open my eyes so I can see with you,” she croons to the camera, “and I live so I can die with you.”

At the end of the song, the camera is flipped to reveal the cameraman, who is none other than her husband, artist and impresario Jay-Z. This weekend, the couple is marking their seventh anniversary.

The Facebook post features a snippet of the song. Seeing the full video, however — which is three and a half minutes long — requires a registered account on Tidal, the new music streaming service that was launched this week by Jay-Z in collaboration with a host of A-listers, from Kanye West to Madonna.
