Watch the Killers’ music video for ‘Shot at the Night’

Can it really be the case that the Killers haven’t already done a music video depicting the quiet desperation of a Las Vegas chamber maid?

That scenario seems right in the wheelhouse of this Sin City synth-rock outfit, whose music examines and embodies the grit below that town’s glamour.

But if the Killers were waiting for just the right time to use the bummed-at-the-Bellagio thing, their patience pays off in the clip for “Shot at the Night,” which the band posted Friday on YouTube.

Starring Bella Heathcote and Max Minghella, it follows a lonely hotel worker as she goes about her daily routine -- then finds sweet disruption after an unlikely meeting on the Strip.

“Shot at the Night,” which was produced by the French electro whiz M83, is one of two new tracks to be included on the Killers’ upcoming “Direct Hits” compilation, due out in November.
