Winners:

Again being first is an asset if you've got the goods and my suspicion is that "Spider-Man 3" will be one of the biggest of the summer ... but "Pirates" will be bigger ... people have invested a lot in the first two and will want to see how it concludes ... until they invent a new cycle.

Losers:

While it's likely to have a big box office my suspicion is that "Ocean's 13" will be a disappointment in relationship to its cost much in the way "Superman" was last summer ... on a more conspicuous level the retro entertainment of "Hairspray" and "Nancy Drew" aren't likely to connect with contemporary audiences.

Surprises:

I think in relationship to expectation that "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" will be the comedy success of the summer ... the season is so predictable by and large and about the only things that looks like it could even be a surprise is "1408" ... very scarrrrry kids
