‘Breaking Bad’ live chat: Let’s talk about the finale

Share

“Breaking Bad” ended its run on AMC on Sunday night in what, as Los Angeles Times TV critic Mary McNamara writes, “may be the first recorded (and distinctly over-tweeted) perfect finale in television history.” Join her and Times staff writer Yvonne Villarreal for a live chat at 10 a.m. Pacific time about the series’ conclusion.

Will there be spoilers? Of course! So if you haven’t quite caught up, may we suggest you watch something else, like Villarreal’s video chat with Aaron Paul or these “Breaking Bad” video parodies?

Still with us? Great! We’re still not going to spoil anything for you here. But we will tell you that, if you’re ready for it, you can read McNamara’s review, Todd VanDerWerff’s recap, our live blog from the big night and a gallery of “Breaking Bad’s” darkest moments.

Or you can check out how Villarreal and Times staff writer Greg Braxton spent the evening, at the sold-out screening of the “Breaking Bad” finale at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It served as a start for Paul’s VIP after-party to celebrate the end of the series, and stars in attendance included Bryan Cranston, RJ Mitte, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks and Robert Forster.

Paul, who played troubled junkie Jesse Pinkman on the series, and his wife, Lauren, staged the event to benefit the Kind Campaign, a movement and school program to counteract girl-against-girl crime and bullying. The event raised $2 million for the program.

The event also served as the backdrop to a panel discussion of the series, with Jimmy Kimmel introducing the stars and series creator Vince Gilligan. “So were you disappointed?” Kimmel said as he took the stage. “Were you glad you came to a cemetery to see a television show?” The crowd roared its approval.

So what do you think? Was the end of “Breaking Bad” perfect or something less than that? Let us know.
