CBS cancels 'Person of Interest,' sets finale dates for 2016

CBS revealed its game plan for the remainder of the 2015-16 television season on Wednesday, announcing season finale dates for shows including "Life in Pieces" and "Supergirl," the series finale date of "The Good Wife," and the return date of what will be the final season of "Person of Interest." 

"The Good Wife" will have its series finale on May 8, bringing an end to the political drama starring Julianna Margulies after seven seasons. "Person of Interest" will return to the network on May 3 for a fifth season, with episodes airing twice a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays, through June 21. CBS confirmed this will be the final season of the crime thriller from creator Jonathan Nolan and executive producer J.J. Abrams.

CBS has not yet announced any returning shows for the fall season beyond the already renewed "The Big Bang Theory" and "NCIS."
