There’s no mystery about the future of NBC’s “The Mysteries of Laura.”

The new comedy-drama starring Debra Messing as a detective who is also a harried divorced mom with two devilish children has been given a full-season order. The show has proved to be a reliable performer since its premiere.

Messing’s last series, NBC’s “Smash” was not nearly as popular. The musical drama about the behind-the-scenes development of a Broadway musical was canceled after two seasons.

The success of “Mysteries of Laura” marks the first network hit for a cast member from NBC’s hit comedy, “Will & Grace.”

Sean Hayes’ comedy last season, “Sean Saves The World,” flopped on NBC last season. Eric McCormick currently stars on TNT’s “Perception”, while Megan Mullally is currently appearing on Broadway in “It’s Only A Play.”
