An example of a television series that went out while it was still riding high, this series had a final year that fully matched the quality and timelessness of its earlier seasons.
Nowhere is that more evident than in the concluding episode, which sees virtually everyone in the WJM-TV newsroom let go, with the ironic exception of hapless anchorman Ted Baxter ( Ted Knight).
