Boyz II Men in free concert at the Americana at Brand
Grammy Award winning group Boyz II Men is scheduled to celebrate their new album, Collide, by presenting a free, 50-minute concert on Monday at the Americana at Brand.
The album goes into wide release on Tuesday, but on Monday it will be available for sale at the Barnes & Noble store at the Americana. The first 100 customers to buy an album there on Monday will be able to attend a post-concert album signing.
Meanwhile the first 50 guests who spend $250 or more from Saturday through Monday can take their receipts to the mall concierge to receive an access package that includes entrance to a VIP concert viewing area, valet parking and a signed album.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday on the green at the Americana at Brand, 889 Americana Way, Glendale.
Events
Style website Refinery29 and Simon Malls are joining forces for a collaborative shopping experience called the Shopping Block, scheduled to take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Brea Mall in Orange County. The event is inspired by the way millennials shop, and includes merchandise from independent boutiques, the services of a “stylist concierge” to highlight fall trends, sweepstakes, beauty bars and DIY stations. The mall is at 1065 Brea Mall, in the city of Brea.
Nicole Richie is scheduled for a public appearance from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Bloomingdale’s Beverly Center to launch her new House of Harlow holiday jewelry collection. Beverly Center is at 8500 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles.
Westfield Century City plans a “fash bash” style event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Shoppers can partake of special one-day deals, beauty bars, music, champagne, sweet treats and more. The center of the action is the area in front of Tiffany and H&M. The mall is at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles.
The next Vintage Fashion Expo is scheduled Saturday and Sunday on the second floor at the Reef, 1933 S. Broadway, Los Angeles. Hours are 10:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday (with early entry at 9 a.m. for an additional fee) and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets range from $5 to $30 depending on the package that’s right for you. Saturday is the third annual March for Montebello, a 2-mile walk sponsored by the Shops at Montebello and Youth Advocates of Montebello to encourage area residents to “shop local.” Registration begins at 9 a.m. in front of Heavenly Choice, 534 N. Montebello Blvd., and the walk ends at center court at the Shops at Montebello, where the Montebello Indian cheerleaders and DJ Mark Pacheco are to perform. The first 300 registrants are to receive gift bags with goodies and coupons from participating retailers. Complimentary bus rides will be available for those unable to walk uphill.
Sample sales
A multi-designer sample sale is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Cerre Atelier, 801 Mateo St., downtown Los Angeles.
Trunk shows
Handbag designer Paige Hamilton is to show her fall collection and take orders for spring in a trunk show scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Melrose Alley, 8465 1/2 Melrose Alley, West Hollywood. Cash and credit cards only.
Openings
Jil Sander Navy has opened its first U.S. flagship, at 314 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills. The boutique carries the line’s ready-to-wear, accessories and shoes. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
