Hammer time: Scott Sternberg, Kevin West talk food and fashion

Band of Outsiders founder Scott Sternberg and canning wunderkind Kevin West are headed to the Hammer Museum next week where they’re scheduled to dish on the overlapping worlds of food and fashion.

West, a 13-year veteran of W Magazine and newly minted author of “Saving the Season: A Cook’s Guide to Home Canning, Pickling, and Preserving” is fast friends with Sternberg, who recently joined forces with Bon Appetit magazine to host what turned out to be one of the most memorable (and delicious) book release parties ever at downtown’s Grand Central Market.

The program, scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public, but tickets are required (they can be picked up at the box office on a first-come, first-served basis) and arrival at least one half-hour prior to the program time is recommended.
