I particularly like the sling ($445), a low-profile twist on the backpack that's becoming a trend, and the $625 leopard printed hair cow tote. (Anything in pony or cow hair is going to be big for fall.)
The hardware on the bags, which are being produced in-house rather than through a licensee, is subtle, with yellow, rose gold and gunmetal finishes. And the colors are understated too, particularly the "carmine" red, "cinder" lambskin and "cognac" suede.
The handbags join the growing Elizabeth and James universe, which already includes ready-to-wear, jewelry, shoes and eyewear.
