Tom Ford steps into the women’s sneaker arena

Share

Tom Ford took his first step into the stylish sneaker arena earlier this year with the launch of ultra-luxe kicks for men, and now the other shoe has dropped -- make that shoes -- as the designer rolls out an equally high-end range for women.

Available in both a high-top and low-top silhouette, the debut spring and summer 2015 collection includes seven colors in leather, five in velvet and six in shades of metallic leather (including gold, silver, antique brass, gunmetal, violet and sapphire blue), all with a white rubber sole.

Dior and Chanel have sent their own versions of the haute sneaker down the runway in recent seasons, and we don’t suspect the trend toward high-fashion high- and low-tops to subside any time soon.

Which makes Ford’s new women’s sneaker collection a super-stylish -- and smart -- step in the right direction.

The new Tom Ford women’s sneaker collection ($770 to $1,150) is available now at all Tom Ford brick-and-mortar locations globally (including the Rodeo Drive boutique locally) as well as online at www.tomford.com.
