Scott Eastwood reveals his go-to fashion labels, his favorite grooming products — and his undies

Despite being hungry and packed into a tiny $199-a-night room in the modest Ocean Beach Hotel in San Diego with a hovering commercial agent, multiple publicists, a stylist and the rest of his power posse, Scott Eastwood breaks out a relaxed grin and extends his arm in a welcoming handshake.

Like his legendary actor-director father Clint, to whom he bears a striking resemblance, Eastwood, 30, is a super-casual kind of guy.

On break from shooting “Fast 8” (part of the “Fast and the Furious” series), the Carmel, Calif., native, who currently lives in San Diego, helped out during a July beach cleanup with Davidoff Cool Water’s long-standing Love the Ocean campaign (love-the-ocean.com) in partnership with the National Geographic Society.

“The ocean is a huge part of my life,” he says. “I surf. I dive. I fish. I paddle board. So much [water] pollution comes from the land. So picking up trash on the beach is something easy that anyone can do any time to help make a difference.”

Eastwood is a brand ambassador for Davidoff Cool Water, the cologne for which his friend, actor Paul Walker, was also an ambassador until his death in 2013.

Before packing up his backpack and grabbing a pre-flight lunch, Eastwood, who can be seen in “Suicide Squad” and soon in Oliver Stone’s “Snowden,” sat down to discuss the cologne, his style, staying in shape and more.

“Clean and fresh” is how Eastwood describes the fragrance, a blend of lavender, mint, sandalwood, iris and musk.

Each purchase of specially marked bottles of Davidoff Cool Water and Davidoff Cool Water Ocean Extreme — a new, limited-edition riff on the original fragrance with added notes of juniper berries, frozen peppermint and seaweed that debuted in July — helps protect more than 100,000 square feet of ocean, according to the fragrance company. Both are available at Macys.com.

As for a favorite scent memory, Eastwood professes to enjoying an aroma that is the opposite.

“The smell of cigar smoke always reminds me of my dad,” says Eastwood who recently made racy comments in an Esquire magazine interview with his father, whose controversial remarks sent social media into a frenzy.

When it comes to grooming, Eastwood is a minimalist, but he does admit to an affinity for coconut oil and Shiseido sunscreen.

Beyond water sports and golfing, Eastwood says he does “a lot of jujitsu and Muay Thai” to stay in shape. Another pastime is mixology. (He is co-owner of Saddle Bar in Solana Beach.)

Asked what he’s wearing, Eastwood responds, “Boxers or briefs? I’m not wearing any underwear!”

He smiles widely, in that captivating, squinty-eyed Eastwood style so reminiscent of his father. Then he pushes down his pants to reveal he’s actually wearing wildly patterned green-and-red briefs.

To elaborate on his outfit, the actor shouts to his stylist, Jeanne Yang, who’s on hand to prepare Eastwood for an upcoming press tour.

While no details on the underwear were given, it turns out Eastwood is wearing an Alex Mill button-down, khakis by L.A.-based brand Paige, black flip-flops from Costa Mesa-based Volcom and black Persol sunglasses — no surprise. The actor teamed with the brand for its spring campaign.

“I’d say my style is classic and simple; keep it simple, stupid,” Eastwood says. “I work with Jeanne [for appearances] and wear mostly Armani. She works with guys like [George] Clooney, Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr. She understands what we like.

“What else do I like to wear?” he calls again to Yang. “Oh, yeah, I like Vans and Vince too,” he echoes.

Offering more particulars about Eastwood style, Yang chimes in.

“He just doesn’t like to go too far on the edge with fashion, and I think it’s mainly because of the fact that he is a surfer and an outdoorsy kind of guy,” she says, citing Ralph Lauren, Zegna, Levi’s and J. Crew as other favored labels and noting that Eastwood starred in the Hugo Boss fall 2014 ad campaign. “He wants things that are a little bit more laid-back. I think anything too fussy is just totally against who he is in terms of his personality.”

And what would he never wear? “Women’s underwear,” Eastwood says, with a sultry smile.
