A lucky few will get a sneak peek at Ricardo Zarate’s new restaurant Paiche before it opens -- and sample the Japanese-Peruvian menu. Or have a free dinner cooked by Andy Ricker of Pok Pok (in Portland, Ore., and New York) and Kris Yenbamroong at Night + Market. Might as well take one’s chances. Here’s how:

Paiche sneak peek: Chef Ricardo Zarate of Picca and Mo-Chica is gearing up to open his latest venture, Paiche, early next month in Marina del Rey. Fans of Zarate’s cuisine can see what the new Peruvian-Japanese restaurant is all about when it officially opens to the public on April 2. Those looking to get a sneak peek of Paiche before it opens can enter a lottery for a chance to be one of the lucky few to experience the new restaurant first on March 29. To enter the lottery, email your name, party size, contact number and preferred dining time to lottery@paichela.com before 8 p.m. on March 26. Winners will be notified by March 28. 13488 Maxella Ave., Marina del Rey, (310) 893-6100.

Pok Pok meets Night + Market: Andy Ricker of Pok Pok in Portland and New York is joining Kris Yenbamroong at Night + Market to celebrate Songkran, the Thai new year, with a northern Thai feast on Friday, April 5. With Singha as sponsor, “the beer will flow,” says Yenbamroong, who is opening a few seats of the private event to the public (at no cost). Email info@nightmarketla.com; “a handful of people” will be selected to attend the 7 p.m. dinner. 9041 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, (310) 275-9724, nightmarketla.com.
