As is usually the case at Giorgio Armani Prive, A-listers dotted the front row Tuesday for the spring/summer 2013 collection. Among them were actresses Uma Thurman, Hilary Swank, Claudia Cardinale and Isabelle Huppert.

Aside from attending fashion shows, Swank made news in Paris over the weekend, but not for the best of reasons: Thieves broke into the taxi in which she riding and snatched her purse.

When asked about the incident, the two-time Oscar winner simply smiled and said, “I’m OK, thank you.”

Among others in attendance at the show were three striking fashion models: Tallulah Harlech, daughter of longtime Karl Lagerfeld muse Lady Amanda Harlech; Amber Le Bon, daughter of Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and model Yasmin Le Bon; and deejay Lady Mary Charteris, recently wed to musician Robbie Furze.

“We took the Eurostar this morning,” said Charteris, explaining that on arrival, the three then stopped at Armani to choose outfits for the evening. “It was a treat,” she said.

Also a treat was the night’s show, which featured what looked like magic wands wrapped into the fabrics, plus gowns luxuriously beaded in vibrant tones, lots of slim pants and a fez to top off many of the looks. Underneath everything, the runway was lighted in the shape of a lightning bolt.

A new Giorgio Armani boutique has opened in Paris, so after the show guests adjourned to the new shopping locale on the Avenue Montaigne to celebrate.
