Katy Perry, Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore help open Tommy Hilfiger

Alicia Keys made a surpise appearance Wednesday at the opening celebration for Tommy Hilfiger’s new West Coast flagship store at the corner of Robertson and Beverly boulevards in West Hollywood. Guests at the opening included Katy Perry, Jessica Alba, Julianna Hough, Drew Barrymore, Estelle, Cash Warren, Kate Capshaw, Kathy Hilton, Neil Patrick Harris and Olivia Munn. [Racked LA]

Fashion designer John Galliano famously got in trouble -- and lost his job at Christian Dior -- for some anti-Semitic bar rants. He has since gone to rehab and worked with Oscar de la Renta on his fall collections for 2013. The New York Post called him out ths week for wearing a long coat, hat and long hair at New York Fashion Week, alleging mockery of Hasidic Jews. But his publicist says he was wearing a look typical of Galliano, including a Steven Jones hat, Yohji Yamamoto trousers, Brooks Brothers shirt and Dolce & Gabbana vest. [WWD]

British model Kate Moss hs been named Hat Person of the Year by the Headwear Assn. She succeeds the Duchess of Cambridge, last year’s honoree. According to a news release announcing the news, Moss narrowly beat out Bruno Mars for the title. [Glamour]

Actor Matthew McConaughey, last seen taking off his clothes in “Magic Mike,” is creating a men’s clothing line called JKL, an extension of his Just Keep Livin Foundation, which aims to help kids grow into healthy, happy adults. The active wear is to debut at Dillard’s next month and will be offered to other retailers for fall. [WWD]
