If you were given the ability to print anything on the receipts at a doughnut shop, what would you write?

Jon Becker, an employee at Stan’s Donuts in Chicago, started off by printing receipts with a quote from the late comedian Mitch Hedberg. Becker, who goes by the name “buckwheatwaffle” on Reddit, posted a picture of one of the customized receipts with the following quote:

“I bought a donut and they gave me a receipt for the donut. I don’t need a receipt for the donut. I give you money and you give me the donut, end of transaction. We don’t need to bring ink and paper into this. I can’t imagine a scenario that I would have to prove that I bought a donut.”

Sound familiar? It’s from Hedberg’s famous doughnut routine.

Becker was eventually asked by someone at the doughnut shop to remove the quote, according to his comments on Reddit. He replaced it with one from “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening:

“Donuts, is there anything they can’t do?”

Nope, they’re pretty much invincible. Becker’s picture of the receipt had more than 2,100 comments on Reddit at the time of publication.
