Microbrew heaven: 38 Degrees turns 4 Saturday and look at the line-up

Alhambra craft beer destination 38 Degrees Ale House and Grill is turning 4, and owner Clay Harding and crew are celebrating on Saturday with a tap list overflowing with barrel-aged specialties, rare sour ales, and local favorites. Beginning at 1 p.m., the beers will pour until closing time, and reservations are recommended as the party is sure to be in full swing all day.

In addition to a full line-up of burgers and salad, 38 Degrees boasts a deep selection of “new American California cuisine” like tempura-battered green beans, BBQ beef short rib mac and cheese, and schnitzel. The gastropub is known for pouring a wide variety of the best in craft beers with a focus on California breweries, and they’ve pulled together a really killer list of craft brews for the celebration.

Co-owner Harding has been involved with L.A.’s burgeoning craft beer scene for years. He has family ties to the now-defunct Crown City brewery in Pasadena, and he’s a co-founder of the popular craft beer pop-up beer garden ColLAboration.

Harding is known for the inventive flights of craft beers he curates at 38 Degrees, and, with such an amazing list of beers pouring for the party, he has plenty to work with to create a memorable anniversary flight.
