British designer Lee Broom unveils new collection at A+R

Share

Only 37, British designer Lee Broom has achieved rock star status in a short amount of time following his work for legendary fashion designers such as Vivenne Westwood and Christian Louboutin.

Broom has also won awards for his own furniture and lighting collections, including the popular handcrafted Crystal Bulb LED lighting medley.

In only his second appearance after last month’s London Design Festival, Broom will unveil Nouveau Rebel, his latest collection of lighting and accessories, at A+R on Thursday.

The new assortment, which is made from Carrera marble and hand-blown lead crystal, includes glasses, candlesticks and lighting.

“No one had seen such a combination of concepts -- vintage cut crystal with LED technology -- when Lee appeared at the Milan design fair a few years ago, which is when we began stocking him,” said A+R co-founder Rose Apodaca. “And he’s continued to prove himself a master of merging materials, the new and old, craft and technology, in ways that are authentically original and simply beautiful to look at.”

Apodaca and Broom will discuss his work at 7:30 p.m. Thursday followed by a reception. The event is open to the public and includes cocktails, refreshments and 15% off all Broom products. He will also be signing his award-winning Crystal Bulb. Most of the new pieces will be available for pre-order for delivery between December and January.
