Film director: An Oct. 7 Calendar section photograph of movie director Gillo Pontecorvo on the set of “The Battle of Algiers” identified the wrong man as Pontecorvo. Pontecorvo is second from left. The story had to do with the digital 4K restoration and rescreening of “Algiers” in various theaters on the film’s 50th anniversary.

Georgia elections: In the Oct. 9 Section A, an article about Georgia’s elections misidentified Gutsa Gvelesiani and incorrectly transcribed her comments about election gains made by the Patriotic Alliance, a pro-Russian party. Gvelesiani is a member of an advisory office on NATO issues, not a Georgian representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. While referring to support of the Patriotic Alliance from Russian President Vladimir Putin, she was quoted as saying: “All I can hope for is that they don’t care at all about actually governing. They’ll just take Putin’s money and disappear.” Her quote should read: “My hope is that they don’t know anything about actual governing and they’ll lose [the next election]. Anyway, it [their support] is all from Putin’s money.”

Palm Springs shootings: An article in the Oct. 10 Section A about the fatal shootings of two Palm Springs police officers said the suspect lived on Cypress Avenue. John Felix lived in the 2700 block of Cypress Road.

Breakfast cereals: An article about breakfast cereals on the Monday Business page in the Oct. 10 Section A said one of General Mills’ “on the go” snack versions of its cereals included Honey Grahams. The cereal is called Golden Grahams.
