‘True Detective,’ ‘Transparent’ among WGA TV nominees

The Writers Guild of America announced the nominations for outstanding achievement in television, new media, radio and promo writing on Thursday, with newcomers “True Detective” and “Transparent” among the nominees.

The first season of HBO’s “True Detective” earned nominations for drama series and new series, while the first season of Amazon’s transgender family comedy “Transparent” was nominated for comedy series, new series and episodic comedy.

The winners will be announced at the Writers Guild of America awards on Feb. 14, 2015, in simultaneous ceremonies to be held in New York City and Los Angeles.
