Major League Baseball outfielder Brennan Boesch, most recently of the Angels, has purchased a home in Malibu for $2.4 million.

Sited to maximize sweeping ocean and mountain views, the split-level contemporary was built in 1980 and features rows of windows and a step-down living room with custom built-ins and a fireplace.

An open-space floor plan of about 2,600 square feet contains a dining room, a center-island kitchen, a sitting area, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master suite sports a fireplace, a large walk-in closet and a soaking tub.

Outdoors, a large deck space with a dining patio flanks the exterior.

Boesch, who starred at Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles and later attended UC Berkeley, has seen time with the Tigers, Yankees and Angels across five seasons. The 29-year-old agreed to a minor-league pact with the Reds in November.

The home originally came to market in June of last year with an asking price of $2.988 million, records show. Paul Grisanti of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent. Matt Rapf of Pritchett-Rapf & Associates represented Boesch in the sale.
