Singer-songwriter James Ingram puts his longtime Hancock Park home on the market

R&B singer-songwriter James Ingram has listed his home in Hancock Park for sale at $1,949,500.

The Spanish-style house, built in 1923, maintains its vintage character with a wrought iron staircase railing, high ceilings, stained-glass windows and original lighting fixtures. Approximately 3,250 square feet of living space includes living and dining rooms, an updated kitchen, a breakfast nook, a walk-in pantry, five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The backyard includes a patio and greenhouse. There’s a two-car detached garage.

Ingram, 63, won Grammys for the 1980s hits “Yah Mo B There” and “One Hundred Ways.” He has worked with such musicians as Ray Charles, Donna Summer, Quincy Jones, Linda Ronstadt, Michael McDonald and Patty Smyth. The vocalist and keyboard player has released five studio albums, including “Stand” in 2008.

He bought the property in 1982 for $268,000, public records show.
