PGA’s Justin Leonard tees up $13.8-million sale in the Dallas suburbs
Professional golfer Justin Leonard, who has banked about $33.5 million on tour for his career, has sold his home in Highland Park, Texas, for $13.8 million.
Built in 2010, the stone-clad contemporary sits on about an acre and is accessed through a courtyard entry.
Inside, two floors of living include formal living and dining rooms, a kitchen with a long center island, an office, a wine cellar, a media room and a fitness center. Beamed ceilings, stone and wood floors and wrought-iron chandeliers lend a rustic note to the 13,930 square feet of living space.
The master suite is outfitted with a sitting room and a fireplace for a total of six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.
Glass doors open to a covered loggia with an alfresco dining room and an outdoor living room with a fireplace. Elsewhere is an outdoor kitchen, a putting green, large expanses of grass and a four-car garage.
Leonard bought the house in 2009, property records show. He had asked as much as $15.995 million for the home, which came on the market in March.
The buyer is said to be Daniel Hunt, the son of late sports owner and promoter Lamar Hunt and current president of Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas, according to Candy’s Dirt.
Kelly Hosch and Shelley Bailey of Dave Perry Miller Real Estate were the listing agents. Gianna Cerullo, also of Dave Perry Miller, represented the buyer.
Leonard, 43, has won 12 PGA events since turning pro in 1994. His lone major championship came at the Open Championship at Scotland’s Royal Troon in 1997.
