Baseball great Mike Piazza seeks $18.5 million for his waterfront spread in Miami
Former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Mike Piazza is ready to leave his home base in Miami.
The 12-time All-Star, who was voted into the MLB Hall of Fame last year, has put his waterfront Italian villa-style house on the market for $18.5 million.
The nearly 10,000-square-foot home sits on roughly half an acre along Biscayne Bay, and the property includes 100 feet of water frontage, a dock and a boat lift.
French doors open to a grand foyer. Jerusalem stone floors, wood-beamed ceilings and crown molding highlight the living spaces. The custom bar, a highlight of the home, features onyx countertops and includes a wine cooler and humidor.
Out back, evenly spaced palm trees line a yard that holds a patio, pool and spa. The grounds also include a veranda with wood-coffered ceilings and, for children, a custom-built playhouse.
A total of 8 bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms lie within the breezy bayside home, while the guesthouse holds another pair. In the master suite, which has a sitting room and wet bar, French doors open to a private balcony overlooking the water.

Piazza, 49, spent the majority of his prolific MLB career with the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers, knocking 427 home runs and 1,335 RBIs in 16 seasons.
