Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Salton City
A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Tuesday afternoon eight miles from Salton City, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 12:11 p.m. PST at a depth of 6.2 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 31 miles from Coachella, 32 miles from La Quinta and 34 miles from Indio.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
