Brentwood bank robber caught on tape

Share

Authorities are searching for a man who wore a white cap and pendant necklace as he robbed a Brentwood bank Friday.

Los Angeles police officers responded about 2 p.m. to the robbery at Comerica Bank in the 12000 block of San Vicente Boulevard, said Officer Tony Im, a spokesman for the department.

Images from the surveillance footage show the suspect wearing sunglasses, a blue-striped T-shirt and brown pants. Investigators are trying to determine if he is linked to other robberies, said Laura Eimiller, spokeswoman of the FBI’s Los Angeles office, whose agents also responded to the scene.

Authorities did not say whether the man was armed.

Eimiller declined to disclose the stolen amount, citing a strict policy.

“When amounts are published, particularly if they are large amounts — not to say that this one is — we see a spike in bank robberies,” she said. “We don’t want the public to feel it is a lucrative crime. Many bank robbers don’t get away with much money.”

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI at (310) 477-6565.
