Twelve people were rescued Sunday afternoon from a sinking boat off Marina del Rey, authorities said.

The 35-foot Scarab powerboat was reported sinking about 1 1/2 miles south of Marina del Rey, said U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Sondra Kneen.

The vessel was first reported to authorities just before 5 p.m., said Bernard Peters, a dispatch supervisor with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Crews from the Fire Department rescued all 12 people on board, who were taken to the L.A. County sheriff’s station in Marina del Rey. None was injured, Peters said.

The boat took on water but did not sink, authorities said. The vessel was being towed into the marina, Kneen said.

One of the rescued passengers, Darci Tormey, posted a video on Snapchat of the ordeal.

The video shows Tormey and others floating in the ocean as they wait for rescuers.

She told KCBS-TV that she and the other passengers slid into the water as the boat sank.
