Russell Westbrook has the triple-double down

Russell Westbrook recorded his third consecutive triple-double and nearly did it by halftime Monday night, finishing with 27 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists for his NBA-leading eighth of the season as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New York Knicks, 112-103, at Madison Square Garden.

Westbrook had 14 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the first half and is now averaging a triple-double for the season — 30.9 points, 11.3 assists and 10.3 rebounds per game through about five weeks.

Enes Kanter had a season-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in the Thunder’s third straight win. New York’s Derrick Rose scored a season-best 30 points and Kristaps Porzingis had 21, but the Knicks’ six-game home win streak ended.

Westbrook fell just shy of a third straight 15-assist game, and the rebound total was his best this season and one off a career high as the Thunder continued a rebound from a recent three-game skid.

at Golden State 105, Atlanta 100: Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry each scored 25 points, and the Warriors repelled the Hawks’ determined upset bid to extend their winning streak to 12 games. Durant also had 14 rebounds, and he and Curry combined to score the Warriors’ last 14 points in the final 4:52.

at Washington 101, Sacramento 95 (OT): Bradley Beal had 31 points, making a career-high seven three-pointers, and the Wizards won in overtime after giving up a late lead. John Wall had 19 points and 11 assists but committed a career-high 11 turnovers. DeMarcus Cousins had 36 points and a season-high 20 rebounds for the Kings.

Boston 112, at Miami 104: Isaiah Thomas had 25 points and eight assists as the Celtics beat the Heat for the fourth straight time. Goran Dragic had a season-best 27 points and 17 assists for Miami, which gave up a season-high point total.

Charlotte 104, at Memphis 85: Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb had 21 points apiece, and the Hornets won their second in a row after a four-game losing streak. Marc Gasol scored 19 for the Grizzlies.

Utah 112, at Minnesota 103: George Hill had 24 points and eight rebounds, and the Jazz’s top-ranked defense held young Timberwolves stars Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns to 32 points combined. Utah has won three straight.

at Toronto 122, Philadelphia 95: Kyle Lowry scored 24 points, going a team-record six for six on three-pointers, and the Raptors beat the 76ers for the 13th straight time.
