Earthquake: Magnitude 3.0 quake strikes near Gilroy
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Monday evening six miles from Gilroy, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:14 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 3.7 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was eight miles from Hollister, 15 miles from Morgan Hill, 16 miles from Watsonville and 110 miles from Sacramento.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
