Earthquake: 2.8 quake strikes near Currant, Nev.
A shallow magnitude 2.8 earthquake was reported Thursday afternoon 18 miles from Currant, Nev., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:04 p.m. PST at a depth of 0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 130 miles from Spring Creek, Nev., 137 miles from Elko, Nev., 168 miles from Cedar City, Utah, and 213 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
