Earthquake: 2.7 quake strikes near Malibu, Calif.

A shallow magnitude 2.7 earthquake was reported Sunday evening two miles from Malibu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 8:27 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 7.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was four miles from Malibu Beach, Calif.

In the last 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
