Amber Alert: Girl, 3, abducted in Fresno County, CHP says

A statewide Amber Alert was issued Monday for a 3-year-old who authorities say was abducted from a small town in Fresno County.

Tanya Ruiz is 3 feet tall, weighs 33 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, according to the California Highway Patrol. She was abducted at 7:45 p.m. Sunday from the small town of Huron, the CHP said.

She was last seen wearing a brown shirt with flowers, blue denim shorts and white sandals, officials said.

Authorities described a suspect in the case as a man who is about 30 years old with long hair. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and red hat, they said.

There was no description available of the vehicle.

Amber Alerts, a public notification system, are issued when authorities believe that a child has been abducted and is facing grave danger.

Anyone with information on the current case is asked to call 911 or the Huron Police Department at 559-945-2348.
