More DASH routes will be running Friday in downtown Los Angeles and Mid-City after an employee strike caused 13 routes to be suspended.

Ten routes remained offline Friday, but limited service has returned to the Downtown Route A, Lincoln Heights/Chinatown and Crenshaw lines.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 572, went on strike Thursday morning over a contractual dispute with Veolia Transportation.

The company operates DASH routes downtown and in certain areas of South L.A. and Hollywood under contract with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation.

LADOT cannot be involved in such a dispute between Veolia Transportation and its employees, said LADOT spokesman Clinton Quan.

Veolia Transportation hopes to have more buses running every day, spokeswoman Valerie Michael said.

Nineteen lines in total remain affected. According to a statement from LADOT, the DASH service available Friday will be as follows:

  • Downtown Route A will operate about every 15 minutes all day
  • Downtown Route D will operate about every 15 minutes during morning and evening peak hours
  • Downtown Route E will operate every 10-15 minutes all day
  • Downtown Route F will operate a limited run every 10 minutes during morning and evening peak hours
  • Beachwood Canyon, Crenshaw and Hollywood/Wilshire lines will operate about every 20 minutes until 6 p.m.
  • Lincoln Heights/Chinatown will operate about every 30 minutes until 6 p.m.
  • Southeast will operate about every 20-25 minutes until 6 p.m.

The DASH routes that are not operating at this time are: Downtown Route B, Highland Park/Eagle Rock, Fairfax, King-East, Leimert/Slauson, Hollywood, Los Feliz, Midtown, Wilshire Ctr/Koreatown and the Weekend Observatory Shuttle.
