One suspect was injured and one was arrested after a deputy-involved shooting Saturday in unincorporated Los Angeles, officials said.

L.A. County sheriff’s deputies were in pursuit of a possible reckless driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol when a passenger in the vehicle jumped from the car and ran, according to a statement from the department. The shooting occurred around 10:11 p.m. when deputies confronted the suspect on foot in the 1400 block of Gage Ave.

A loaded handgun was recovered from the scene, the Sheriff’s Department said. The suspect was transported to the hospital for treatment and was in stable condition.
