Fake cop who asked to have sex with man’s wife sentenced

A 33-year-old Santa Ana man who pretended to be a police officer in a scheme to have sex with another man’s wife was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison, the Orange County district attorney’s office said.

In April 2009, authorities said, Tariq Ibrahim Musa approached a 22-year-old man who was selling counterfeit CDs in the parking lot of a supermarket in Santa Ana.

Musa claimed to be a police officer and told the vendor he was under arrest, the DA’s office said.

When Musa saw a photograph of the vendor’s wife, authorities said, he said he would drop the charges in exchange for an hour alone with the wife.

One of the vendor’s family members called 911, and Musa was arrested.

Musa pleaded guilty to felony counts of kidnapping, false imprisonment, grand theft person and being in receipt of stolen property.
