The former "Full House" star was pulled over a few blocks from Beverly Hills City Hall around 7:45 p.m. Friday after police received several calls about a possibly intoxicated driver nearby, said Sgt. David Armour of the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Firefighters took Stamos to a hospital for an unspecified medical condition, where authorities later discovered that he had been driving under the influence, Armour said.
Stamos, 51, was issued a citation for DUI and released to the hospital. A hearing is scheduled at the Airport Courthouse near Los Angeles International Airport on Sept. 11.
