Naked man tries to take baby at San Fernando Valley park, police say

Police say a naked man tried to take a baby from a San Fernando Valley park

A naked man suffering from a drug overdose was taken into custody Friday morning after he tried to take a baby during an event at a San Fernando Valley park, police say.

The man, whose identity wasn't immediately released, is receiving medical treatment, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department. It's not clear what charges, if any, he may face.

"He is clearly delusional and is having some issues," he said.

The man apparently stormed a recreation center at Mason Park in the 10000 block of Mason Street about 10:20 a.m. and tried to take the baby, Madison said.

Several children were inside the recreation center for an event, Madison said.

The baby was not hurt during the incident.
