Police in Sonora, Calif., have arrested a man who they say beat his roommate with a coffee mug after he didn’t wash dirty dishes.

Daniel Slawinsky, 27, of Sonora was arrested just after 7:45 p.m. Sunday on a charge of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at the pair’s home in the 300 block of Fairview Lane, according to the Sonora Police Department.

Police said Slawinsky had been arguing with his 18-year-old roommate because he had not washed the dirty dishes, and then allegedly threw a porcelain coffee mug at his roommate, striking him.

The mug broke, so police said he grabbed another cup and charged and struck his roommate again.

The roommate suffered two large, deep wounds to his neck and received medical treatment at Sonora Regional Medical Center.

Police said Slawinsky admitted hitting his roommate with the coffee mug.
