A handful of soccer fans had already gathered at L.A. Live by 7 a.m. Tuesday, ready to meet the newly minted champions.

The women's team routed defending champion Japan in a 5-2 victory Sunday, bringing home a record third championship and the first Women's World Cup title since 1999.
